"Thanksgiving Thursdays" -The same girl.

Me in overalls as a young girl at summer camp in Idyllwild, CA. ... .. .
Me as a grown girl still wearing them while camping in Big Sur, CA.

I will wear them anytime. For the rest of my life.... I'm thankful that I have always stayed true to myself and those around me. Sister bear asked me for a pair just the other day. The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. Hmph, she loves apples and I love trees. Happy Thursday. What are you thankful for this week?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BOZO!

Today is my brother's birthday along with his twin and my niece. June 10th is a very special date in our family because my grandfather's brother also shared this same birthday with my brothers and niece.

BOZO? ya, Sister bear calls her uncle that and it has stuck. And with the way I change everyone's names on my blog to protect their innocence.. hahahaha! Well it works around here.

So, Happy Birthday, Uncle Bozo, "Uncle Darn you live so far" and cousin "Darlin'......." we love the three of you and wish we could share cake with you tonight.

"Bear Cubs Daily" -Quack Quack, Thank God it's Friday!

I'm exhausted, but still was able to gain enough energy to laugh as this silly little girl went running by me, wearing my eyeglasses and hanging onto her new fishing reel. I stopped her in mid-tracks and nicely removed the glasses from her face and then removed her fishing rod from her hands, since I am going with, "they are not toys". But the glasses make for a nice photo to remember the moment. Then off to the grocery store we went! What.a.week!

"Bear Cubs Daily"/"Thanksgiving Thursday" -Situations at the Treehouse

It's time to make a decision that involves my hair scissors. I've been known to close the bathroom door and start snippin' away.

You are probably wondering who this cute little blackbird is. Well, I'd like you to meet, Freddy! He's a special friend of ours, or should I say, a friend of Papa bear's? He spends alot of time around the ol' Treehouse. He's been hired on by Papa bear as an extra pair of eyes to keep watch of Sister bear's good and bad behavior. He reports the day as it happens and sometimes Papa bear has to call the house and mention to Sister bear that Freddy has just been by to deliver the goods. She looks for him every day in our backyard. He's easy to spot, because he can usually be found sittin' here on the fence. If we don't see him, well, then we pretty much figure he's hangin' out at Papa's office. This seems to work, keeps Sister bear on her toes.

Now this is Sister bear being quite sweet with her new outfit on from "Cousin Gosh She's Cute". Below she's graciously drawing her a picture and writing her a thank you note. Her manners come naturally.

Tonight was "Family Nite" and we decided to have dinner and go on the prowl for a Princess crown. We didn't have very good luck with the search. Might've been because we were in Bass Pro Shop looking for it. Well, dinner was deicious and it took up most of our time. By the time we were finished eating the place was closing. We had made a promise to Sister bear that we would find her that crown, so Papa bear made sure they unlocked the doors from the restaurant to the store. He had his eye on something that he thought would calm the seas. A princess fishing rod! In case this wasn't good enough (which it would've been, but Papa had some heavy guilt on his shoulders with the store closing on him quickly) he darted upstairs to find Sister bear a furry friend to go with the little gift. A black bear named Kourtney! Sister was so happy, she skipped on out of the store with a smile from ear to ear. Papa bear came thru!

PS: You can see that we closed the place down. It's been a while since I've had a "Thanksgiving Thursday" What am I thankful for this week? Peace of mind and strong faith, it's what has gotten me thru this week.

Kissy.

Our Guardian Angels...

My Grandparents -their Great Grandparents.
They were the dearest to my heart and now my children will get to know them thru me. They will always be apart of their lives and their spirits will continue to be kept alive. Before Sister bear even knew who they were, she pointed to this picture on my sister's vanity and said, "Grandma and Grandpa!" with such passion and happiness in her voice that it made me teary-eyed. Little Brother bear reminds me of them so much and has some of their same expressions and the smile of my Gramps. It lights up a room.

I heart this child!

Driving around town.. .Great conversations with her aunt in Florida!
Their conversations are precious. Now she's sitting down to a bowl of fruit and still chatting it up.

"Bear Cubs Daily" -Fashion Plate

These flip flops were a gift from "Cousin Gosh She's Cute" (name changed to protect our family). Sister bear decided that since she had her lovely "Turkus Blue" socks on that there was no reason to remove them because she was trying on her new flip flops. When I mentioned we would be leaving soon, she said, "Ok, wets go!" Now I was completely fine with the sock/flip flop combo, just couldn't believe my child was following in my footsteps (no pun intended) with her fashion choice.

"Bear Cubs Daily" High-Five!

Sister bear taught lil Brother this tonight. It was so simple, he was like a little monkey taking note and then he did it just like that! He's a neat lil guy, he'll try whatever you show him. And eat whatever you feed him. THIS is getting fun!

He also "Moos" like a cow. Apparently it's his favorite animal. Whenever he sees a cow, he moves his little head up like he's an animal and lets out this strong "Moooooooooo!".

He's such a Monkey! Together he and Sis really make quite a pair. They have their sibling moments, but most of the time, they just enjoy playing together. They really have this amazing bond between the two of them that makes me smile and feel very proud. Don't forget, his first real steps were made directly to Sissy and then he fell into her arms and just stayed there for a while.
