call 911 you need an emergency cake!

emergency cake:

DANGEROUS CHOCOLATE CAKE-IN-A-MUG and a mess free kitchen

  • 1 coffee mug
  • 4 Tbsp. cake flour (plain, not self-rising)
  • 4 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 egg
  • 3 Tbsp. milk
  • 3 Tbsp. oil
  • Small splash of vanilla
  • 3 Tbsp. chocolate chips, optional

Directions:

Add dry ingredients to mug, mix well with a fork.
Add egg, mix thoroughly.
Pour in milk and oil and vanilla, mix well.
Add chips, if using.
Put mug in microwave, and cook for three minutes on HIGH.
Cake will rise over top of mug--do not be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little; tip onto a plate if desired.
Eat!
(This can serve two if you want to feel slightly more
virtuous.)

And WHY is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the
world?

Because now we are all only five minutes away from
chocolate cake any time of the day or night!!!

miami seaquarium

with all the sudden craziness of moving from florida to texas, we are making the best of it. trying to spend as much family time together as possible.

on saturday, we decided to go down to miami to the "seaquarium" -a place we've wanted to explore for a while. sister bear LOVES the sea life, a passion she shares with papa bear. she gazed at the dolphins in the tank for the longest time. she ran around the whole place like she was on an adventure and we were just along for her ride. of course she was running around in her lovely lobster shoes and her "theater of the sea" t-shirt. dressed for the occassion.

her favorite visits were to the manatee pool, the dolphin tank, a brief encounter with a shark, the turtles and of course the "mingos" aka the beautiful pink flamingos! she had to see where the crocodiles called home, but said she didn't like them and asked, "where are the sharks?"

little brother bear enjoyed cruising around in the stroller and an occassional ride in mama bear's arms. his eyes grew big when we wheeled him up to the different windows that gave him clear view of the underwater entertainment. i think he grew fond of the lobsters.

as leaving anywhere is never easy, it was papa bear's job to swoop up sister bear and laugh her all the way to the car. she was mad, but for good reason -we were having so much fun! most of us were also getting very hungry. so we ended the day at carrabba's for dinner. i don't know why i craved a shrimp caesar salad and calamari?
